Millions of girls worldwide lack access to the information and services they need to live healthy lives. Young women aged 15-24 years account for 22% of all new HIV infections globally and have infection rates twice as high as their male counterparts. Many girls lack adequate knowledge on health issues that affect women, most notably risks of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV transmission, prevention, and treatment. Through monthly seminars and the SEGEI blog, we equip girls with age-appropriate information about puberty and other health issues (including emotional health) to enable girls/women protect their bodies and make healthy choices.
We offer community workshops on the following topics:
- Adolescent Health (with focus on girls’ rights)
- Personal Hygiene
- Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Sexually Transmitted infections, including HIV Prevention
