Educational Programs
The most powerful weapon which girls can use to change the world
We believe in the power of education and its role in creating strong women leaders. Of the over 62 million girls who are not in school globally, 34 million are adolescent girls. Research shows that basic literacy skills are lower among girls than boys. SEGEI supports girls to enroll and stay in school through mentorship, provision of school supplies and supplemental scholarships, and literacy and numeracy classes. We aim to close the economic and gender gaps in education and advance Global Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for [girls].

SEGEI School Kits
Many girls in the communities we serve do not live with their biological parents and have to rely on relatives for support. These relatives often have other children and responsibilities that demand their little finances. To address the lack of educational resources for girls in these situations and to help girls thrive academically, SEGEI provides girls with school kits that include essential school supplies to help girls focus and excel in school.
Literacy and Numeracy Classes
SEGEI provides literacy and numeracy classes for out-of-school adolescent girls to ensure that they have basic reading and writing skills to engage in profitable vocational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
