Announcement: Leadership Transition at Strong Enough Girls’ Empowerment Initiative (SEGEI)

Dear SEGEI Community,

I am delighted to announce a significant leadership transition at Strong Enough Girls’ Empowerment Initiative (SEGEI). After eight remarkable years as the Executive Director, I am passing the baton to a new leader who has been an integral part of our journey and embodies the spirit and vision of SEGEI.

Effective immediately, Queen Ugwoeru will assume the role of Executive Director. This decision, unanimously approved by our Board of Trustees, is a testament to Queen’s exceptional performance, unwavering commitment, and remarkable growth demonstrated throughout her tenure with SEGEI.

Queen’s journey with us has been nothing short of inspiring. Starting as a mentee in the Evolve Mentorship Program (EMP), she quickly rose to leadership positions, serving as a Volunteer Lead, EMP Program Coordinator, and most recently, SEGEI Programs Manager. Throughout these roles, Queen has exhibited visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep-rooted commitment to our mission.

Over the past four years, Queen has demonstrated progressive leadership, consistently exceeding expectations and driving positive change. Her ability to inspire and motivate the team, coupled with a talent for innovation and problem-solving, has been instrumental in propelling SEGEI forward. Queen’s dedication to fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence has strengthened our team and elevated the impact of our programs within the community.

I am confident that Queen will continue to lead with integrity, vision, and passion. Her deep understanding of our organization’s values and innovative approach to programming and leadership position her as the ideal candidate to guide SEGEI into a new era of growth and success.

I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude for your support and contributions to SEGEI over the past eight years. It has been a privilege to serve as your Executive Director, and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together. I remain the Founder & Chief Empowerment Officer of the organization with a seat on the Board of Trustees. I am excited to see how SEGEI will continue to thrive under Queen’s leadership.

Please join me in congratulating Queen Ugwoeru on her well-deserved appointment as SEGEI Executive Director. Your continued support and encouragement will be crucial as she embarks on this new journey with us.

With gratitude and best wishes for the future,

Onyinye Edeh
