International Youth Day 2023: Career and Personal Development
by Grace Anaja Young people are at the core of what we do at Strong Enough Girls’ Empowerment Initiative (SEGEI) and as such in commemoration of
The most powerful weapon which girls can use to change the world
Of the over 62 million girls who are not in school globally, 34 million are adolescent girls. Basic literacy skills are lower among girls than boys. SEGEI supports girls to enroll and stay in school through mentorship, provision of school supplies and supplemental scholarships, and literacy
Many promising young women are deterred from pursuing their academic dreams and goals as a result of financial hardship. Through the SEGEI scholarship fund, we provide financial support to enable adolescent girls and young women (15-35 years) pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nigeria and Kenya. By providing support for the cost of education, SEGEI will reduce financial barriers to girls’ education and empower young women to embrace and utilize their intellectual talents for a better life and stronger world.
Preparing the next generation of women leaders for Africa’s future
Evolve is a mentorship and leadership program of Strong Enough Girls’ Empowerment Initiative (SEGEI) that connects women aged 18-35 years to outstanding female professionals who provide real-world leadership and career inspiration
Girls need personal and social skills to protect their bodies and thrive socially.
Data has proven over the years that Nigeria is one of the countries that has the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. Therefore, it has been proven that people need contraceptives to put a stop to women who die from pregnancy-related deaths.
We take pride in seeing young girls achieve greatness in life because when a woman is liberated a whole society is liberated
Many driven and exceptional young women are denied the opportunity for higher education due to lack of money. This fund provides supplemental scholarships to assist young women in low-resource settings to pursue a university degree. All donations are tax deductible.
