Strong Enough Girls’ Empowerment Initiative was a proud partner of the Youth Model African Union Summit that was held on the 24-26th November 2022, in Abuja, Nigeria

The Summit brought together youths from the 55 member states of the African Union to deliberate and debate the pressing challenges of African youths and Africa as a continent. This was a summit where youth from across Africa came together to discuss youth willingness to be involved in peacebuilding, Unconstitutional change of government, Reviving African economic development through a renewed commitment to cross-border and regional trade,
and fostering the AU Agenda 2063 across Africa.

SEGEI’s Delegate Irene Igomu stood for the good people of The Gambia 🇬🇲 and it was an amazing opportunity to learn. The summit built the Leadership and Diplomatic Skills of participants as Future Leaders and Diplomats. To promote cultural diversity and heritage the participants were encouraged to dress in attires of the country they were representing.

The outcome of the summit was the establishment of the Y55 Assembly to champion the actualization of the #AU Agenda 2063 by the African Youths and the Resolutions by the committees.
